Position Purpose:
The West Midlands Trains Internship and Apprenticeship Programme 2026 is designed to provide students and recent graduates with practical experience and training in the rail industry. Interns and apprentices will work alongside experienced professionals across various departments, gaining hands-on experience and developing the skills needed for a successful career in rail transport. Duties and Responsibilities:

Education:
- For Internships: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program in Business, Engineering, Transport Management, or a related field.
- For Apprenticeships: Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English; A-levels or vocational qualifications in relevant subjects are advantageous.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service or technical role is beneficial but not required. A strong interest in the rail industry and a willingness to learn are essential.
Skills:
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and passengers.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of technical systems and engineering principles (for apprenticeships).
