Position Purpose:

The Welsh Government Internship Programme 2026/2026 is designed to provide undergraduate and recent graduate students with hands-on experience in public administration and policy-making. Interns will work across various departments, gaining insights into the operations and strategic functions of the Welsh Government. This programme aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in public service and policy development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Assistance: Support departmental projects by conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to project planning and implementation.
  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks, including managing documents, scheduling meetings, and preparing reports.
  • Policy Research: Assist with research and analysis related to policy development and review.

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program in Public Administration, Political Science, Social Sciences, Economics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in administrative roles, research, or public service is advantageous but not required. A keen interest in public policy and government operations is essential.
